Brisbane-born painter and draftsman Lloyd Rees is one of Australia's most recognised and awarded landscape artists. He deftly captures the effects of light and form in his works, for which he twice received the prestigious Wynne Prize. LLOYD REES: EARLY BRISBANE DRAWINGS documents a number of significant early drawings he made in Brisbane in the first decades of the twentieth century. These are selected from works generously gifted by his son and daughter-in-law, honouring the important connection that Lloyd Rees had with Queensland.
