Hard cover. In as new condition.
The Maverick Soul by Miv Watts, with photography by Hugh Stewart, is a lavishly illustrated book celebrating the homes and lifestyles of 25 creative, unconventional and free-spirited people from around the world. Published in 2017 by Hardie Grant Books, the book explores the personal spaces of artists, musicians, writers, actors, designers and other individuals who have chosen to live according to their own tastes rather than conventional expectations. The featured personalities include singer Marianne Faithfull, Australian artist Wendy Whiteley, actor Griffin Dunne and other notable figures from the creative world. Through Miv Watts’s engaging profiles and Hugh Stewart’s evocative colour photography, readers are invited into distinctive homes filled with art, treasured possessions, collected objects, books and eclectic furnishings that reflect their owners’ personalities and experiences. Rather than promoting a particular decorating style, the book celebrates individuality, creativity and the beauty of interiors that develop naturally over time. Combining biography, photography and interior design, The Maverick Soul is an appealing volume for readers interested in bohemian lifestyles, artistic homes, decorative arts and unconventional approaches to living.
