Casting the Horoscope (Astrology for All Vol. II)
Author: Alan Leo
In very good condition, 1933.
Casting the Horoscope (Astrology for All, Volume II) by Alan Leo is a practical instructional work on the principles and techniques of traditional astrology. First published in an early form in 1901 and subsequently expanded and revised, the book explains how to construct and interpret a horoscope based on a person's birth date, time and place. It covers technical subjects including the positions of celestial bodies, astrological houses, planetary relationships, the calculation of ascendants and the use of ephemerides and mathematical tables to determine planetary positions. Alan Leo, a prominent British astrologer and influential figure in the development of modern Western astrology, compiled the work with contributions from writers associated with his Modern Astrology publication. The book is an important historical example of early twentieth-century astrological literature, documenting the methods and terminology used by astrologers before the widespread availability of electronic calculators and computers.
