Woven by Maria do Ceu. This is a vintage Tais piece.

Tais "Omi-Miraka" is women's cloth tubular way made by women's group from Com in Lautem district weaving with back strap loom. This tais structure is low level in the community for exchange dowry with valuable price, bride price, for welcoming guest, ritual ceremony and funeral. Material using for this textile are hand-spun cotton with original motifs and dyeing with natural plants, vegetable, beans and mud.

This tais is part of the Alola Foundation. Alola Foundation is a member of the Asian Fair Trade Forum, promoting ethical trade practices throughout the region.

Each product is lovingly handmade by skilled Timorese artisans, using traditional Tais weaving, a vibrant fabric rich with cultural meaning. No two pieces are ever the same, with unique patterns and colours woven into every design.
