Skies of Arnhem Land

Author: Ann E. Wells

Hard cover with dust jacket, very good condition.

Skies of Arnhem Land by Ann E. Wells, illustrated by Margaret Paice, is a collection of children's stories inspired by the Aboriginal peoples and landscapes of Arnhem Land in Australia's Northern Territory. Published in 1964, it is the third book in Wells' Arnhem Land series, following Tales from Arnhem Land and Rain in Arnhem Land. Drawing on her years living and working in Arnhem Land with her husband, missionary Edgar Wells, the author retells traditional-inspired stories that explain the origins of stars, constellations, natural phenomena, and the relationship between the sky and the land.
