A History of the Ski Exploration of Victoria's Alpine Area, is a description of all the great pioneering tours of the 1920s and 1930s, as recorded and documented by members of those parties, at the completion of their trips.
Every tour story is accompanied by a map of the route and photos
taken along the way.
In addition, the book contains four portfolios of superb mountain winter photography: Eighteen pages of four colour plates by skiers P. E. 'Mick' Hull, Geoff Schirmer, Tony Novotny and Roy Bostock; a selection of 16 of the best monochromes by Edwin G. Adamson, the doyen of mountain photographers; sixteen monochromes from the camera of O. H. 'Mick' McCutcheon, a bushwalker and skier, whose wanderings took him twice to the Himalayas, and sixteen of P. E. 'Mick' Hull's best black and whites, taken during his fifty years of skiing.
This is an historic document, recapturing and recording achievements by the pioneers who cut the first ski tracks across our Alpine Winter Wonderland.
In excellent condition just some yellowing on the edges of the pages.
