The Atlas of World Wildlife is a large-format illustrated reference work on the world's animal life, produced by Mitchell Beazley in consultation with the Zoological Society of London, with a foreword by the distinguished evolutionary biologist Sir Julian Huxley. The original British edition appeared in 1973 and runs to 208 pages, with extensive colour illustrations, photographs, maps, diagrams and explanatory text.
The book examines wildlife geographically and thematically, covering national parks and reserves, endangered species, evolution and adaptation, marine life, polar regions, deserts, rainforests, savannas and other major habitats. It features animals ranging from whales, polar bears and walruses to marsupials, penguins, seals, armadillos and many other species.
